Open Rhinoplasty Vs. Closed

When it comes to rhinoplasty, choosing between the open and closed techniques depends on several factors, including what you aim to achieve and what your surgeon recommends. Let’s understand the differences!

▫️ Open Rhinoplasty
In open rhinoplasty, a small incision is made in the columella (the bottom part of the nose) to give the surgeon a more detailed view of the nasal structure.

✔️ Advantages: More control over reshaping complex structures, ideal for more challenging cases or revision rhinoplasties.

▫️ Closed Rhinoplasty
On the other hand, closed rhinoplasty is performed through internal incisions within the nose, without visible cuts on the outside.

✔️ Advantages: Less invasive, with generally faster recovery time and less swelling. Ideal for simpler adjustments and refined aesthetic results.
