PREOPERATIVE

• Functional assessment is very important to diagnose anatomical changes that must be corrected to preserve or improve breathing.
• In the physical examination, several characteristics of the nose are evaluated, such as bone structure, strength and size of the cartilages, support of the nasal tip, degree of thickness and oiliness of the skin, which greatly influence the prognosis of the surgery.
• Standardized photos with adequate lighting are taken for discussion with the patient, computerized simulation and comparison with the result.

• And it’s always worth remembering: the final result of all rhinoplasty is from 1 year onwards. In some cases, such as when the skin is very thick or in revision surgeries, it may be necessary to wait 18 to 24 months for a better result.
